We’ve had a long day today that started for most of us at 2 AM. So we’re all feeling very tired but blessed. The highlight of the day was seeing the progress of Maria’s church, the change in La Chureca, and knowing this is the fulfillment of Maria’s dream and the fruit of her prayers.
Some specific highlights:
Dock: Just to see how the place has changed in just 3 years.
And those who had been to La Chureca before echoed Docks’s comment. The place had an entirely different feel.
Penny: My high was seeing Maria’s face.
Tom: For me standing inside the church itself.
Becky: Not knowing some of the history but just walking into that church was awesome. And that little man I sat next to on the plane I will remember him forever.
Reggie: For me just seeing the kids genuinely interact with us.
Jennifer Thompson: The presence of the Holy Spirit. There’s no other explanation for the connectedness we felt today than the presence of God’s spirit.
Everyone’s highlight was either seeing Maria—her joy was contagious and her hugs the best—or her children, or the New Jerusalem church.
Marias’ children Cessia and Jose Ishmael with Debbie Davis.
Another highlight was the rainbow. We were surprised to see rain clouds since it’s dry season. And though we didn’t see any rain we did see this awesome rainbow and sensed God’s blessings.
Pray for tomorrow. It will be another long day. After an early breakfast we will be driving to Leon and helping with a feeding program there and then spending the afternoon at Pochocuape playing and interacting with the kids and having dinner at Melba’s house. Melba is the mother of our two translators Margie and Isa.

To see the smile on these childrens faces, is enough to put tears in anyones eyes. You all are truly amazing for taking on the mission of making a difference in the lives of others. I look forward to seeing more of the daily blog and photos. God Bless each of you <3
